Tourism has brought €2.5 billion to Lanzarote in the first three quarters of 2023, according to recent figures from Istac, the Canarian statistics agency.

This is the highest figure ever recorded, far exceeding the €2.2 billion record over the same nine-month period set in 2017.

It means that Lanzarote accounts for 18% of the €14 billion tourist income in the Canaries.

The most profitable quarter on Lanzarote was, as usual, the high summer season from July to September. This was followed by the first quarter from January to March.

Almost half of Lanzarote’s €2.5 billion total was provided by British tourists (€1.24 billion). Britain brought more than five times as much money as the next two markets: Germany (€231,000,000) and Spanish domestic travellers (€214,000,000).
