Arrecife access plans

The Canarian Government has announced the public consultation phase of the project to alter the connections between the main LZ-2 main road and Arrecife’s outer ring road.

Sailor’s body found

The dead body of a Russian sailor was retrieved from the sea Tenesar yesterday morning by emergency services after a yacht hit rocks off the coast of Tenesar. Two other crew members survived and are recovering in hospital.

El Quemao returns

Up On The Wall

Murals are nothing new to Lanzarote. César Manrique created several large indoor and outdoor wall paintings, many of which can still be seen; but recent years have seen several larger scale artworks adorning public buildings in Arrecife.

A vision made real

In 1960, José Ramírez Cerdá, known to all as “Pepín” was elected as President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. He would leave that post in 1974, having transformed the island in a way that seems scarcely believable.
