Escaped macaw rescued from seven-metre palm tree in Playa Blanca

Firemen retrieved an escaped macaw from a palm tree in Playa Blanca on Thursday.

The large parrot had managed to escape from its cage several days ago, and had been flying around the residential complex, disturbing residents with its loud calls.

It was finally located in a seven-metre palm tree. Firemen used a cherry-picker to reach the bird, which was wrapped in a fireman’s jacket and recaptured.
