From the volcanic contours of the landscape to the Atlantic coastline, Lanzarote provides the inspiration for jewellery designer Tania Candela, whose Famaraspirit brand reflects a slower, more conscious way of living.

Lanzarote has a distinctive way of leaving its mark on those who spend time here. For jewellery designer Tania Candela, it has become the inspiration behind an independent brand rooted in the island’s natural surroundings.
Famaraspirit grew from Tania’s long-standing relationship with Lanzarote, particularly Caleta de Famara, where she settled in 1995. Having developed her skills as a jewellery maker from the age of seventeen and travelled across different continents, she eventually found herself drawn to the quieter rhythm of life in this small coastal village.
The brand was established in 2014, bringing together her professional experience and a personal philosophy centred on reconnecting with nature.
That influence can be seen throughout the collections. Famaraspirit draws on organic forms, natural textures and the changing character of the island’s landscape. The aim is to create pieces that evoke the places and experiences that inspire them, from the movement of the sea to the rugged outline of the coastline.

The connection is particularly evident in the necklace collection. The Famara by Night pendant, for example, takes its inspiration from El Risco, the imposing cliff overlooking Famara beach. It offers a wearable interpretation of a place that has become central to Tania’s creative identity.
Rings, earrings and other designs continue this approach, combining distinctive forms with materials selected in keeping with the brand’s commitment to more conscious jewellery production. Recycled silver is an important part of the collections, reflecting a preference for considered choices over disposable trends.
For Tania, jewellery also has a personal purpose. Famaraspirit was created around the belief that thoughtfully made objects can become part of someone’s identity and hold memories over time. Rather than being replaced with every change in fashion, a well-chosen piece can accompany its wearer through different stages of life and eventually acquire sentimental value.
