Memories of the Jable

Memories of the Jable is a multidisciplinary celebration of the life and work of folklorist Antonio Corujo, bringing together members of his family, friends and some of the best-known names in Canarian folk music.
The performance features members of the Corujo family, including Ciro, Cirito, Pancho, Toñín, Domi, Vicente, Néstor Castro and Domingo Corujo Tejera, alongside guest performers Dionisio Rodríguez, Fabiola Socas and Domingo “El Colorao”.
The production combines live music, singing, timple and the distinctive sound of limpets with previously unseen images and historic television footage. Its documented script explores important chapters of Corujo’s life and the wider story of Lanzarote’s traditions, including family, travel, education and his experiences in Venezuela.
It promises to be an evening celebrating both an important Lanzarote figure and the island’s rich musical heritage.

A new exhibition at Casa Museo del Campesino brings together 22 original sculptures created by renowned Lanzarote artist and folklorist Juan Brito Martín (1919–2018).
Juan Brito and Princess Ico: A Mythological Journey explores the legend of Princess Ico and other characters from Lanzarote’s oral traditions, using Brito’s sculptures to bring these stories and characters to life.
The exhibition combines art, heritage and modern technology. Each sculpture features a QR code providing access to audiovisual material and the story behind the work, including a recreation of Juan Brito’s own voice using artificial intelligence.
The exhibition has been designed for all ages and is presented in Spanish, English and German, offering visitors an opportunity to discover more about one of the key figures in Lanzarote’s cultural heritage.

Experience one of Lanzarote’s most extraordinary attractions after dark with Noches de Jameos.
The evening combines gastronomy and music with the unique volcanic setting of Jameos del Agua, one of the most celebrated creations of artist and architect César Manrique.
