Yaiza Aytunamiento has opened the tender process for a €340,000 project to upgrade sports facilities at Parque Atlántico in Playa Blanca.
The request for proposals was published on Thursday, with an investment of almost €340,000. The project aims to renovate the fencing and flooring of the sports courts, which have deteriorated due to wear and tear and exposure to the weather, while also installing new shaded areas.
Companies interested in bidding for the contract can consult the technical and administrative specifications at www.yaiza.es. The deadline for submitting bids is Friday, 23rd October.
Yaiza Ayuntamiento plans to modernise the park’s two tennis courts, including new equipment and a replacement enclosure. The project also includes the installation of electronic locking systems on the paddle tennis courts, the construction of a protective enclosure for the electrical panel serving the court lighting, a new enclosure for the oval multi-sports court, and repairs to its playing surface.
Other sports projects
Yaiza’s Councillor for Public Works and Sports, Ángel Lago, also provided an update on other sports infrastructure projects across the municipality.
Work is continuing on the €1.3 million expansion of the San Marcial Rubicón sports centre in Playa Blanca, where new multi-purpose beach sports courts are being built.
In Uga, construction is also progressing on the €952,000 refurbishment of the multi-purpose sports court next to the village school. In addition, landscaping works and the construction of a €1.3 million car park serving the Canarian wrestling arena in Uga are nearing completion.
