Arrecife en Vivo

One of Lanzarote’s favourite live music festivals returns to the streets of the island’s capital this Friday, with another eclectic lineup bringing music and crowds to Arrecife.

The evening features The Anger Price, MFC Chicken, Alfredo Piedrafita and Chambao, who are visiting Lanzarote as part of their 25th-anniversary tour.

Arrecife en Vivo continues into October, with more live music scheduled for 2 and 9 October.

Explore the musical links between Lanzarote and the Caribbean in América entre Nosotros, a concert celebrating Canarian-Cuban heritage.

Lanzarote-born singer Verónica Lucía delves into her Canarian-Cuban roots through an emotional performance featuring music from both sides of the Atlantic. She is joined by Javier Infante and Alexis Lemes, whose performance combines melodic counterpoint with improvisation and a search for musical beauty.

Ángulo Producciones brings Supersaurio to Lanzarote this weekend, in a stage adaptation of the novel by young Canarian writer Meryem El Mehdati.

The production uses humour, music, irony and a deliberately kitsch aesthetic to explore the realities facing a younger generation, including work, identity, belonging and the expectations placed upon them.

The story follows Meryem, a 25-year-old woman of Moroccan descent, as she tries to find her place while working for Supersaurio, the largest supermarket chain in the Canary Islands. Described as a generational mirror, the production looks at the gap between the promise of opportunity and the reality of precarious employment.
