The capital welcomed 407,024 cruise passengers in the first seven months of 2026, with around 100 further cruise ship calls scheduled through December.
Arrecife welcomed 407,024 cruise passengers between January and July 2026, representing a 15.98% increase compared with the same period last year.
The increase makes Arrecife the state-run port in the two Canary Islands provinces with the highest growth in cruise tourist arrivals, according to the data.
The ports of Arrecife-Naos, Cruceros and Los Mármoles account for more than 30% of the Las Palmas Port Authority’s revenue from cruise ship activity.
The 400,000-passenger milestone was reached in April, at the end of the fall and winter season.
Arrecife has now entered the 2026-2027 cruise preseason. Based on port calls requested by cruise lines and compiled by the Port Authority, approximately 100 cruise ship calls are scheduled in the capital through to the end of December.
Arrecife mayor Yonathan de León said the city’s continued growth as a cruise destination shows that initiatives carried out during the current term “are paying off”.
As part of the preseason, Arrecife will welcome the Oceania Allura on Monday, August 31. The mid-sized luxury cruise ship is operated by Oceania Cruises and was launched in 2025 as the second vessel in the Allura class, following the Oceania Vista.
The ship has 11 decks and 613 staterooms, all equipped with private balconies.
The Las Palmas Port Authority projects that Arrecife will receive more than 720,000 cruise passengers by the end of 2026.
The port has also received boutique cruise ships in recent months, including vessels carrying high-spending passengers.
