Teguise Completes Final Municipal Step Toward Opening Costa Teguise Bus Station

Teguise Ayuntamiento has completed what it says is the final municipal step needed to bring the new bus station in Costa Teguise into operation, submitting an agreement to the Lanzarote Cabildo for the temporary transfer of the facility’s use.

The agreement will allow the Cabildo’s Transport Department to begin using the new infrastructure while the formal administrative process to permanently transfer ownership of the land and building is completed. According to the council, this approach will enable the interchange to open sooner without waiting for the final legal procedures to conclude.

Mayor Olivia Duque said the council had worked from the outset to accelerate all procedures within its responsibility.

“By submitting this agreement, we are taking a decisive step towards ensuring the bus interchange can become operational as soon as possible, providing residents and visitors with a modern and much-needed facility for Costa Teguise,” she said.

Once operational, the new transport hub will serve as the main public transport interchange for Costa Teguise. The facility will include platforms for intercity buses, a taxi rank, a customer service building, public toilets, landscaped areas and other amenities designed to improve mobility and accessibility.
