Visitors to Montañas del Fuego can now enjoy a more comfortable experience after the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism completed the installation of a new air conditioning system at the popular Timanfaya attraction.

Ángel Vázquez, director of the CACT, welcomed the completion of the work, describing it as a significant improvement for both visitors and staff.

” Montañas del Fuego is more comfortable starting today,” he said. “This is a collective success that will make the experience more enjoyable for our visitors and the day-to-day work of our staff more comfortable.”

The installation included modifications to the building’s interior and the connection of the equipment to the site’s electrical network. The system is designed to cool areas where indoor temperatures regularly exceed 30°C, particularly during the peak summer months of July and August.

According to Vázquez, the improved climate control will also support plans to enhance the visitor experience at the iconic El Diablo restaurant, famous for cooking food using geothermal heat from the volcano.

The project cost €415,808.79 and was carried out by the company Climatega.
