55 rescued from drifting boat

The Maritime Rescue vessel Al Nair rescued 55 migrants from a sinking dinghy yesterday.

The dinghy was detected by a spotter plane at around 1 pm, which reported that it was adrift and apparently deflating. The rescue vessel picked up the 55 passengers, bringing them to Arrecife.

It is the second “patera” to arrive in three days, with 61 arrivals on Friday.
