Guardia Civil agents have arrested a man in Costa Teguise who was spotted stealing from tourists on the beach.
The incident occurred in mid-April, when Guardia agents received a phone call from a member of the public who claimed to have seen someone stealing the belongings of a tourist couple at Jablillo beach.
Agents took a description of the suspect and arrested someone who matched the profile shortly afterwards. On being questioned, the suspect provided false information, and when searched, a mobile phone matching the stolen device was located.
´The suspect was arrested and taken to the Guardia Civil barracks, where he was investigated for five similar offences. A report has been sent to the magistrate’s court in Arrecife.
