Today, May 1st, is a International Workers Day, a public holiday in Spain. As a result, many public buildings, offices and shops on the island will remain closed.
As usual, most businesses in the resorts will remain open, and larger shopping centres will observe normal hours.
A warm, sunny weekend is predicted for the island with no chance of rain and daytime temperatures in the low 20s.
This year, May Day also arrives with a full moon.
