Lanzarote’s Centre for Music Education (CIEM) is presenting a new edition of Music Week. This well-established event will run from 27th to 30th April, showcasing on stage the work that students have developed throughout the academic year.

Over four consecutive days, the programme will combine educational performances and stage productions open to the public. Students at all levels, from beginners to the most advanced groups, will take part in a format that highlights their progress within the centre itself.

Programme for the 24th Music Week

The programme begins on Monday 27 April at 5:00pm at the Víctor Fernández Gopar “El Salinero” Theatre with a concert by children, offering the youngest students their first taste of performing on stage.

Tuesday 28 April will focus on the piano with a concert by ensembles at 5:00pm at the same venue, and will continue at 7:30pm in the CIEM Auditorium with the final round of the 24th Student Performance Competition. This event evaluates the technical and artistic work developed throughout the school year.

On Wednesday 29 April, stage performances will be featured with the children’s opera “Of Mice and Mozart” at 5:30pm at “El Salinero”. This production combines music, storytelling and staging to introduce the figure of Mozart to family audiences. That same day will conclude at 7:30pm with the ensemble concert, featuring various instrumental groups from the school.

The closing event will take place on Thursday 30 April at 6:00pm with the show “Azúcar”, inspired by the life of Celia Cruz. This stage production combines music and theatre and rounds out a programme designed to offer a broad overview of the musical work carried out at the CIEM.

Invitations for the concerts held at the Víctor Fernández Gopar “El Salinero” Theatre can be obtained here: https://culturalanzarote.com/eventos/semana-de-la-musica-2026/, while the rest of the activities will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.
