The Cabildo is considering charging entry to the Parque Natural de los Volcanes, the zone that surrounds the National Park of Timanfaya.
EL Diario de Lanzarote reports that fees for visiting sights in the Parque Natural, which contains attractions such as the Volcán del Cuervo, Montaña Colorada and Caldera Blanca, will be used for conservation of the area.
The proposal is an attempt to manage and control visits to the zone, which has experienced increased tourist pressure in recent years.
