The first cruiser to dock at Playa Blanca harbour will arrive in November, it was announced yesterday.

José Gilberto Moreno, director of Puerto Canarios, confirmed the arrival of the first cruiser, a medium-sized ship of 207 metres in length, yesterday during a visit to Playa Blanca.

The exact date of arrival has not been released. However, the ship in question will be the Four Seasons 1 luxury yacht, according to La Voz, which measures 679ft in length and has 95 suites. You can read all about it here: www.fourseasonsyachts.com/vessels/four-seasons-1

Work has already begun at the harbour on signage for pedestrians and vehicles, and it is foreseen that the cafeteria at the harbour terminal will be opened by the end of summer, following a bidding process.

Moreno also stated that improvements would be carried out at the ports of Puerto del Carmen and Órzola, with a view to improving and increasing services.
