Passengers were forced to sleep on the floor of Arrecife’s airport on Saturday 3rd January as flights were held up by bad weather.

Passengers boarded the Manchester-bound Jet2.com flight at 9.15, one hour after its scheduled departure. However, after remaining on the tarmac for four hours, the pilot informed passengers that the flight had been cancelled.

As the airline could only find last-minute accommodation for a few passengers, many had to remain in the terminal. They were given a €20 food voucher but were unable to use it until shops opened in the morning.

The flight finally left Lanzarote at around midday on Sunday 4th.
