Five people arrested in Arrecife on embezzlement charges

Five people have been arrested following charges of embezzlement at Arrecife’s Casino. A sixth suspect is also being investigated.

The charges arise after losses were investigated and the detection of a faulty gaming machine that was erroneously printing out winning tickets.

Video footage showed that certain employees used friends and family members to take advantage of the error, winning large amounts of money and sharing it out on the premises. Around €70,000 appears to have been stolen.
