Arrecife Local Police is escalating its fight against the use and sale of narcotics in the city’s parks and public areas, deploying reinforced patrols and advanced resources to ensure public safety.
The crackdown is a direct priority for Mayor Yonathan de León, who has instructed officers to maintain a persistent presence in locations identified by the community itself as potential hotspots for drug-related activities.
The intensified operations include surveillance from unmarked vehicles and special patrols operating both day and night. A key focus is on sensitive areas, such as Parque de Los Pinos in the Titerroy neighbourhood, where preventive controls were conducted near a school in late September.
The local police force has been bolstered with new technological resources, vehicles, and vans to reinforce security across a municipality that is now home to more than 72,000 inhabitants.
