Tourists spent €795.6 million on Lanzarote in the second quarter of 2025, according to the Canarian Government tourist spending survey. This is €30,000 (3.5%) less than the same period last year despite an increase in tourist numbers of 35,000.

It’s the first decrease in tourist income in two years, breaking a trend that saw a 7.5% increase in income in the first three months of the year.

The average daily spend in April, May and June was €154.60 daily (flight and accommodation included), a 7.3% decrease on last year’s figures of €166.90.

Of the €154.60 daily spend, €74.60 is taken by accommodation and €36.10 on international or national transport. €8.50 goes on local transport, €24 on food, €6.40 on leisure, €4.50 on goods and 50 cents on “other items”.

The figures suggest the precise opposite of the much- announced quest for “quality tourism” with fewer visitors spending more money.

Tourist spending statistics are based on questionnaires completed by a random sample of tourists at the end of their holiday.
