Spains’ Tourist Board has selected the Mirador Del Rio as one of the fifteen most impressive viewpoints in Spain.

The board’s official site claims “We are almost lost for words to describe this wonderful place, which was designed by the architect César Manrique* and from which, on clear days, you can see the isles of La Graciosa, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and, in the background, Alegranza.”

Two other Canarian viewpoints are listed among the 15: the breathtaking Roque de los Muchachos on La Palma, with its views of the Caldera de Taburiente and the “ocean of clouds”; and the peak of Mount Teide on Tenerife, which is the highest point in Spain and the Atlantic.

*Manrique was not an architect.
