Lanzarote Safety and Emergency Consortium has warned of rainfall tonight (Thursday 14th November) that could reach up to 10 litres per square metre. The rain could be “persistent” in urban areas such as Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda, Arrieta, Punta Mujeres, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, and “could cause damage.”
The worst-affected areas are predicted to be the central and northern areas of the island, as well as all of La Graciosa.
“A convergence of winds” in Tenerife is already causing blustery weather on much of Lanzarote today.
Nevertheless, no alert has been issued yet from AEMET, Spain’s State Meteorological Agency.
