Las Nieves fiesta tomorrow

Tomorrow, August 5^th, is the day of the Fiesta of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves.

The fiesta is one of Lanzarote’s most picturesque, taking place at the highest church on the island, the Ermita de las Nieves. Throughout the morning, pilgrims will arrive at the church, many walking up the long ridge from Teguise, while some even scale the Famara cliffs.

At midday, the image of the Virgin of the Snows is taken from the church and paraded solemnly around it, accompanied by Teguise’s municipal band.
