Arrecife records 38% increase in cruise passengers in May

Arrecife has recorded a 38% increase in cruise passenger arrivals in May this year, compared to May 2023.

From January to May this year, Arrecife has received over 250,000 cruise passengers which is an increase of 11.7% over the same period last year.

Additionally, Arrecife now contribution to more than 30% of the business linked to tourist cruises in all of the ports controlled by the Las Palmas Port Authority.

Arrecife Mayor, Yonathan de León, stated that “important shipping companies specialized in cruise tourism have confirmed that they will call at the port of Arrecife during the next winter season [between Sept 2024 – April 2025].”
