Bodegas Vega de Yuco’s popular white wine, Esencia Yaiza, has retained its gold medal at the Bacchus 2024 International Wine Competition.

The Bacchus International Wine Competition is Spain’s leading event in the world of wine and is open to wines, vermouths and wine-producing spirits (piscos, orujos, singanis, brandies) from all over the world. A unique opportunity to recognize the highest quality elaborations endorsed by a panel of more than 80 national and international tasters.

No wine event held in Spain manages to bring together over four days such a team of wine tasting experts as that of the Bacchus panel of judges. More than a hundred names that combine diverse backgrounds with professionalism and experience.

In the 2024 edition of the Bacchus competition, almost 2000 wines were present produced by wineries from across 19 different countries in the world.

Bodegas Vega de Yuco’s “Esencia Yaiza” white wine has made a name for itself on Lanzarote not only for its taste but also for its unique and recognisable bottle. Many tourists and residents choose to keep the bottle as decoration after finishing it.

On their website the bodega stated that they receive the gold medal “great enthusiasm this new recognition for the Malvasía Volcánica of the Esencia Yaiza line. A medal that we share, one more year, with all the winegrowers and winemakers and the Vega de Yuco team that make it possible”.

You can find the wine in various shops on the island, or buy online on their website.
