Coalición Canaria San Bartolomé has called for the creation of a proper parking space and safe trail to Las Grietas after the recent influx in visitors causing safety and environmental concerns.
CC San Bartolomé spokesman, David Rocío, stated that the measure “would be a way to make money for the municipality and would put an end to the safety risks that are occurring on the LZ-35 currently, with pedestrians crossing the road dangerously.”.
They consider that due to the fact it has become a popular attraction for visitors and residents, that it would motivate the Ayuntamiento to start the necessary actions to carry out both a parking plan and draw up a safe trail in order to economically benefit the municipality and tackle the safety issue.
