Emergency services have removed the “most dangerous parts” of the wind turbine which fell yesterday, collapsing a power line and leaving parts of Lanzarote without electricity for several hours.
The wind turbine, located on Montaña Mina near San Bartolomé fell yesterday after a gust of wind from the south-west, measured at 33 kmh.
The disused wind farm on Montaña Mina has already caused controversy. Last year, San Bartolomé’s council threatened court action if the business that owned the turbines did not dismantle them.
