Socialist members of the Cabildo have called for the continuation of drone displays at Christmas as an alternative to more traditional firework shows.
Councillor Alberto Aguiar said that drone displays are “More respectful to the environment, towards those with autism and hypersensitivity, and towards pets and wild animals.”
The Cabildo introduced drone displays last year, and Aguiar claims it was a “success in terms of participation”. However, the high cost of the spectacle was strongly criticised by the opposition parties who now form the ruling group in the Cabildo.
