The dead body of a Russian sailor was retrieved from the sea Tenesar yesterday morning by emergency services after a yacht hit rocks off the coast of Tenesar. Two other crew members survived and are recovering in hospital.
The Mai Tai yacht issued an SOS signal at 1.20 am on Wednesday morning and a helicopter located wreckage 80 minutes later, when the first crew member was rescued. All three of the crew had jumped shop without lifejackets.
A second member of crew was located on shore at around 4 am. Both men, aged 52 and 40, were suffering from hypothermia.
The body of the third member of crew was discovered by a rescue helicopter at 10.10 yesterday morning.
