Police arrested a man who was illegally fishing for octopus in Arrecife last Saturday, it has been reported.
Local police officers arrested the 42-year-old in the vicinity of the Castillo de San Gabriel, the fort off Arrecife’s seafront, on Saturday. He was in possession of 11 kilograms of octopus and had no permit for this type of fishing.
While booking the suspect, police discovered that he also had an arrest order against him for various burglaries.
