Spain’s Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have issued a heat warning this week, remaining active until this Wednesday.

Lanzarote sees another week of high temperatures, after a brief break from the 30-degree Celsius spells.

AEMET have placed a yellow temperature warning on Lanzarote this week, which could see temperatures reach 34 degrees Celsius. The warning will be active today from 10am until 8pm, and reactivated Wednesday 4th for the same time frame.

WHAT DO THE WARNINGS MEAN?

Yellow: Be aware. No danger to the population is forecast. Some outdoor activities may be suspended.

Orange: Be prepared. A significant risk exists. Open air activities are often suspended during orange warnings.

Red: Take precautions, cancel outdoor plans, and follow the government’s advice. High risk to the population. Do not make unnecessary journeys. All outdoor activities will be suspended.
