The Dia de Canarias is tomorrow, 30th May, and is a holiday throughout all eight of the Canary Islands.
As it falls on a Tuesday, many people are likely to have taken today off to make a long weekend of it, so be prepared for some places to be closed today as well as tomorrow.
Celebrations will also begin today, with a performance by legendary Canarian folk group Los Sabandeños in Arrecife being one of the highlights. The group will perform in the Parque Islas Canarias in Arrecife at 8pm, following local musician Toñiñ Corujo’s concert at 7pm.
