Leo’s Burgers in Costa Teguise has been awarded “the best burger in the Canaries” at the La Laguna Burger Fest in Tenerife.
The Burger Fest in Tenerife saw more than 25 restaurants from all over the Canaries show off their best burgers at market stalls. Each restaurant that took part in the event also competed against each other for the “best burger in the Canaries prize.”
Lanzarote has taken home another award, this time for Leo’s Burgers tasty patties, and it’s easy to see why.

AWARD-WINNING BURGERS
The Costa Teguise restaurant was opened by Leo and his partner Liga at the end of 2020. What Leo’s do is gourmet burgers, reflecting a hugely popular global scene. When you take a table at Leo’s you can be certain that the bread is fresh from local bakeries; the burgers are homemade from 100% Angus beef, fresh chicken or other products, and you’ll be tempted by a genuinely original and mouth-watering menu.
You can choose from burgers such as the best-selling Meat and Cheese Feast, the delicious Maniatica with peanut butter and tomato jelly or the locally-influenced Cabra Loca (Crazy Goat), with goat’s cheese and delicious caramelised onions.
Every month Leo’s creates a new Burger of the Month, experimenting with ingredients and flavours, and if you can’t see exactly what you fancy on the menu, go to the Burger Factory and choose your own ingredients.
GAINING POPULARITY
Their recent award at the La Laguna Burger Fest isn’t their first – Liga and Leo also attend burger events throughout Europe, in Brussels, Stockholm and Germany. They were also the only representatives of Lanzarote at the Best Burger Competition in Spain this year.
Last year, Leo’s received national coverage when they were visited by Joe Burgerchallenge, the most famous burger influencer in Spain, who has 230,000 followers on Instagram and almost a million subscribers on YouTube.
Leo’s is already planning to expand its premises to deal with demand, and that demand reflects the restaurant’s welcoming attitude and serious attitude to food. “This isn’t fast food,” says Liga. “We want you to take your time and enjoy the experience”.
Leo’s Burgers is in the CC Los Charcos, Avenida Islas Canarias, Costa Teguise. It’s open from 1pm – 3.30pm and 7.30pm – 10.30pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and all day from 1pm to 10.30pm on Sundays (closed Tues and Wed)
