High winds and calima conditions will continue today on Lanzarote, with the island on a yellow alert – the lowest level of warning

According to Spain’s meteorological agency AEMET, winds will be stronger than yesterday, with gusts reaching up to 80 kph. The interior of the island and the west and north coasts of La Graciosa will be the worst-affected areas.

Visibility will vary from 1.5 to 3 kilometres today, and the calima conditions are predicted to continue throughout Wednesday, although winds are forecast to drop tomorrow. AEMET forecast that weather will get clearer from Thursday, with a small decrease in temperatures.
