This will show, for example, that February is probably the coolest month, with a few days of rain likely %u2013 although this is usually in the form of short showers. Crisp, clear views often mean that there%u2019s been rain and are one of the advantages of winter and spring on Lanzarote, but one of the best ways to plan your day is to look at wind direction.Lanzarote%u2019s prevailing northern winds I called the alisio, and usually brings fine, breezy weather. It can also rain, but this is usually in the form of showers. When the wind changes to south-westerly, that%u2019s when stormy weather can arrive from the mid-Atlantic - a good tip is that, if you see planes landing from the island side and taking off over the ocean, there%u2019s a chance of unstable weather. East and south-eastern winds from Africa can also bring calimas, or dust storms. If the horizon on the sea is vague and fuzzy, that usually means there%u2019s a light calima.
