Emergency services were called to a property in Costa Teguise on Monday morning, where a 75-year-old British man was found dead.

A British man, reported to be approximately 75 by La Voz, has been found dead at his home in Costa Teguise.

The incident happened at around 8am on Monday, 14th September, at a property on Calle Bergantín.

A member of the public alerted the emergency services after noticing that the man was unresponsive.

Emergency responders entered the property and confirmed that the man had died.

According to Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Emergency Consortium, the man had medical issues and lived alone.

Changes to the roundabout between Arrecife and Costa Teguise appear to be functioning well so far.

Signage and markings have been changed to alter the flow of traffic onto the roundabout, allowing traffic from Arrecife to enter the outer lane of the roundabout without stopping.

Previously, long tailbacks of vehicles had formed at this entrance at certain times of day, often stretching way back to IKEA.

These changes are likely to remain in place for the long term until the new roundabout at the Carretera de los Marmoles and the Carretera de los Castillos, near the IKEA entrance, is built.

U.D. Lanzarote will welcome supporters, families and young football fans to its 12th annual Open Beach Training Session at Playa Las Cucharas in Costa Teguise on Tuesday 18th August.

U.D. Lanzarote’s first team squad will take part in the open training session from 6.30pm on Las Cucharas beach, opposite Flintstones Bar.

Fans, friends and youngsters are invited to watch the session or join the players for a gentle 15–20-minute jog along the promenade or beach.

Boys and girls are welcome to take part. Children who find the route too demanding can wait until the players return along the same route.

The club said this will be the 12th Open Beach Training Session, with everyone welcome to attend with family and friends.

The event is intended to be an enjoyable day for those taking part, including the players, management and directors.

For those travelling from Puerto del Carmen, the number 3 bus runs back and forth every 20 minutes, with the journey taking around 40 minutes.

Passengers should get off at the bus stop outside Lanzarote Gardens, then head down to the promenade and walk right until they reach The Flintstones Bar.
