The Teguise Ayuntamiento have released the “Teguise+ Purple” campaign and invites residents of the municipality to take part.

Under the slogan haz historia, deja huella (make history, leave a mark) the Teguise Ayuntamiento are hosting two events to raise awareness for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women this month.

Mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort spoke about the campaign “I congratulate the Equality Department for offering Teguise and Lanzarote the unique opportunity to show universal commitment to improving the quality of life of those affected. We invite all to take part in the challenge and to be part of the events.”.

The program is as follows:

Monday 15th November (5.00pm) – An artistic performance by Tony Biyand Dance & Creation Studio, followed by the “That’s not love” monologue/workstop presented by Marina Marroqui at the Convento Santo Domingo.

Sunday 21st November (9.00am) – A 5km race in which 500 participants will run in Costa Teguise.

Registrations for the race can be made on the Teguise Ayuntamiento website until November 17th.
