According to the latest Tourism Expenditure Survey for the third quarter of 2025, each tourist spent an average of €196.27 per day on Lanzarote.

Lanzarote’s performance outpaces the Canary Islands’ average of €188.05. Total visitor expenditure for the quarter reached €1.116 billion, a year-on-year growth of 7.3%.

Expenditure on accommodation rose by 6.4%, driven by increased bookings in higher-end establishments. Meanwhile, spending on food and drink saw a notable 9.7% increase.

Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, described the results as a “historic record”. He stated, “It is no coincidence that Lanzarote has achieved the highest tourist spending figures recorded in the Canary Islands since 2010. It is proof that the island is growing in value and reinforcing a more sustainable and profitable model, where visitors seek quality, authenticity, and a more carefully curated offering. We will continue working to ensure that this path of stability and maturity is a guarantee for Lanzarote society.”

Héctor Fernández, the chief executive of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, emphasised the structural changes behind the positive data. “The ISTAC data shows clear progress: Lanzarote is receiving tourists with greater purchasing power, who are opting for higher-end accommodation and investing more in gastronomy and the destination experience,” Fernández said. “This is the result of a strategy that seeks to improve the product and diversify it towards higher value segments, while remaining consistent with our sustainability model. The increase in spending is linked to the improvement of the destination and to tourists with greater purchasing power.”
