Lanzarote will count on 46 direct connections with Ireland this winter, as Irish airlines add eight more weekly routes between the Republic and César Manrique Airport
Aer Lingus will operate another flight from Cork and five more from Dublin, while Ryanair, which recently cancelled several domestic Spanish routes as part of its ongoing strop with Aena, has added one more Dublin flight and another from Shannon.
Despite a population of just 5.4 million, Ireland has now overtaken Germany as Lanzarote’s second-most important source of tourists and is undoubtedly the island’s most faithful and enthusiastic market. Almost 226,000 Irish tourists had arrived on the island by the end of July.
