The trip to La Graciosa is a great day out for families and solo travellers looking for a quiet break that’s just a 25 minute boat trip away. Here’s how to get there:

Travel

You’ll need to head up to Órzola first, which is where the boats set off from.

Arrecife to Órzola via the number 9 bus (4 euros one-way) will take you roughly an hour to get there, and the times are as follows (from the bus station): 07:20, 10:15, 11:30, 15:30, 17:00. Be advised that this service runs just five times a day on weekdays and four on weekends and festivals. Make sure to time your return boat accordingly, as to not miss the bus.

Arrecife to Órzola via hire car or taxi will take about 35-40 minutes. It’s wise to set off early as you will need to park your car in Órzola.

The Ferry

There are a couple Ferry companies which can take you to La Graciosa. You can book your tickets beforehand or at the ticket office in Órzola.

Lineas Romero charge 26 euros (adult ticket) for a roundtrip for non-residents. If you’re a resident of the Canary Islands you receive a 75% discount which adds up to roughly 6 euros for a roundtrip.

The 25 minute boat trip will leave you at a square in front of the Lineas Romero offices, from there you can rent bikes, grab a quick coffee or bite to eat, and explore the island.

La Graciosa

From here the choice is yours, the island has plenty of beaches to offer and heading left from the boat will lead you towards the quiet beaches of Playa del Salado, Playa Francesa and Playa La Cocina.

There’s plenty of little cafes and restaurants in the village, as well as the Chinijo Museum.

The island has plenty to offer for avid hikers, routes can be found here: https://www.visitlagraciosa.com/en/hiking-trails-la-graciosa/.
