It’s worth preparing the main ingredient in advance for this unique Halloween cocktail, which can be prepared in unsweetened and sweet, creamy versions.
PUMPKIN SPICE VODKA
• One 75 cl bottle vodka
• A vanilla pod
• Half a nutmeg
• 400 g piece of ripe pumpkin
Blend everything in a clean jar and leave for at least a week, shaking occasionally. Strain before using.
THE PUMPKINTINI
• Black salt
• 1 part Pumpkin spice vodka
• 1 part gin
• Ice
Sprinkle black salt on table top, wet rim of glasses and press into salt. Shake other ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker, strain and serve in martini glass.
Sweet version
• 1 part pumpkin spice vodka
• 1 part sugar syrup
• 1 part Irish cream
Shake with ice as before and serve in a glass rimmed with sugar or crushed crackers.
