The film, which was shot across locations in Lanzarote and Madrid last summer, is set for theatrical release on 20th March.This marks the director%u2019s second major project filmed on the island, following his 2009 film %u201cLos Abrazos Rotos%u201d (Broken Embraces), starring Pen%u00e9lope Cruz.POSTER FOR ALMOD%u00d3VAR%u2019S LANZAROTE FILM RELEASED FIELDS OF VIOLETLanzarote tourists enjoyed a brief but beautiful new tourist attraction recently, as fields and meadows all over the island burst into bloom.The road to Puerto Calero was one of the most popular locations for visitors to stop and snatch a few photos of the purple wildflowers that suddenly carpeted the fields. The flower in question is a local Echium strain known as %u201ccow%u2019s tongue%u201d.Elsewhere, yellow flowers, red poppies and lovely daisies were among the flowers that made their rare, but always welcome, appearance. Photo: @lanzascapes on InstagramLANZAROTE%u2019S HOSPITAL INSULAR TO CLOSE THIS SUMMERLanzarote%u2019s Hospital Insular, which specialises in care of the elderly, will close this summer. Although the closure is claimed to be temporary, there is no project for renovation of the premises yet.The closure was announced by the Coalici%u00f3n Canaria%u2019s General Secretary, Pedro San Gin%u00e9s, Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort and Lanzarote Health Director Erasmo Garc%u00eda last month. Patients and staff will be transferred to the building for Emerging Diseases at the island%u2019s main general hospital.San Gin%u00e9s stated that %u201cour care of the elderly is not going to change%u201d and guaranteed that no jobs would be lost. He also said that the 75-year-old hospital building, with gardens designed by C%u00e9sar Manrique, was a listed building and would not be demolished.The Hospital Insular was the first on the island %u2013 the idea of Dr Jos%u00e9 Molina Orosa, the doctor who transformed healthcare on Lanzarote and in whose honour the current much larger general hospital is named.
