“Humans of Lanzarote” is a brand new multimedia project launched recently by the Lanzarote Tourist Board which brings unforgettable glimpses of some of the island’s most notable local faces.
“Have you ever stopped to listen to the heartbeat of the places you visit?”
That’s the question that the Humans of Lanzarote project asks, and which it seeks to answer every month by focussing on local islanders, living their lives on an island where tradition and modernity, tourism and agriculture, youth and age, all co-exist in harmony.
The first part of the project featured the inimitable Lourdes, owner of the splendid general store La Tienda de Lourdes in Soo, and featured fascinating interviews and brilliant photos.
The second part of the project is now also available, and is devoted to Noam and Saúl, identical twin brothers who are familiar faces in many local triathlons and regulars at the skate parks and the islands best surf spots. Accompanied by their father, the twins talk of their life on Lanzarote and the freedom they’ve been blessed with.
With several more instalments already planned, Humans of Lanzarote will continue to bring us astonishing images and insights into the island and its inhabitants.
