Big blow

The Guardia Civil have denounced the owner of a boxing club in Haría for allowing minors to attend a boxing event.
The Palenke Boxing School could face a fine of up to €12,000 for infringing a law which forbids establishments from admitting minors to “sporting events whose rules contemplate the production of physical harm for any participant.” Minors are legally defined as children under the age of 18, and the 1997 law also prohibits them from taking part in boxing competitions, although training under a qualified trainer appears to be permitted.
